Israel Stations Nuclear Missile Subs Off Iran

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHmhxpQEGPo&feature=player_embedded
Even the brilliant Rachel Maddow thinks it's time to pray. The 79 well was in 200 feet of water. With this one in 5,000 feet and the columns stretching from seabed to suface for that distance, the volume and the impact on the food chain are multiplied.

Sorry but I don't see where Rachel Maddow says something about praying.
I'm following your blog for a long time and I think you have some good and strong arguments, but sometimes the way you talk is only good for scaremongering.

An interesting law was passed here in the USA while being completely buried within the Healthcare Reform Act. Beginning in 2012, all businesses, large and small, need to send 1099 tax forms to every single business they spend $600.00 or more with during the calendar year. So if you buy a $800.00 computer at a major retail store for business purposes, you'll then need to send that company a 1099 form.

I can't even imagine the number of 1099 forms that major corporations will now have to be sending each other. Previously, as long as you were buying from a corporation, you didn't need to send these 1099 forms.

I am losing sleep too. I feel nauseous over this oil age catastrophe. I'm practically shaking all day long.

Way back when, on the Wilderness site, I remember Mike saying that half the battle is psychological. That preparing for this collapse had to start in your head. And if you could prepare your head, you'd be better able to prepare the rest of you.

I thought I had prepared my head. I thought I knew the possible scenarios. I quit my full-time good paying job where I had to drive 84 miles a day for two part-time jobs that don't even cover my bills. I'm learning about growing food. I'm conserving. I'm doin what a know-nothing nobody can!

But now, we're starting to actually live through this collapse. And I realize I am not prepared. Mentally or otherwise. I feel lots of anxiety all the time.

What to do? Rotate your media (while we still have it). Don't live in the TV landscape for too long. Rest your the chip body (i.e. your computer), too. Get outside with your physical body and clear the mind of the devastation and death that is enGulfing our planet.

There is nothing that will turn this catastrophe off. It IS too late to save any of this civilization. "And if you could go back, would you want to?"

In between lifeboat building, consider what it would take to build an entirely new economy. Renewables won't do it all.

Consider COLD FUSION now. It's real - it's NOT a hoax. Scientists have been working around the planet for 20 years on this, and have made great strides, but the public still has no clue.

Cold fusion won't help this happening now. We are on the road to Oblivion with this Petro-economy, and ... what will survive, I don't know.

But please consider the future landscape. McLuahn said "The future of the future is the present."

Re the Deepwater Horizon incident:

The indeed truly brilliant Rachel Maddow says, "...praying does seem wiser than hoping at this point." However, our humble perspective tells us that comprehensively understanding what's going on is required to get beyond merely hoping or praying the bad stuff will go away.

I don't see how what Mike says is "scaremongering". This situation is scary along with its implications.

Hurricane season is now, BP are failures at stopping this. Human technology is failing at stopping this. Whats going to happen when the first hurricane arrives in the gulf?

I'd imagine an evacuation may occur.

Mike, thank you for your blogs and information. You have helped me along with a large group of friends learn how to connect the dots.

It seems Associated Press was indeed reporting that Israel had advised citizens to leave Turkey, but that story is no longer on the AP website. Wonder if it was incorrect, or maybe it has been pulled.

What happened to all the oil from the 1979 disaster? Was it all cleaned up? Did it eventually get mixed in with the ocean currents and diluted within the rest of the ocean?

Not trying to downplay this whatsoever. Just curious.

Ruby, I feel ya. I thought I was pretty far along in being mentally prepared for the future. I now am really aware that I have a long way still to go.

The oil well blowout had disturbed me to my core.

The biggest issue that I grapple with is this.
I have a vegetable garden and I have learned how to forage wild plants in the area. I have a good system to purify water.

Good for me. I also live in a major metropolitan area and have multiple hundreds of thousands of people within a 20 mile radius of where I sit.

What about those people? There is enough forage in the hills to feed a (very)few thousand of them sustainably at best.

What are all these folks going to do when the money is gone and the store shelves are empty.
I know the answer to that, and It terrifies me to think about it.

That IS going to happen and we all need to be as mentally prepared as possible.
Good luck to you and be stong!

It's funny; but I used to lose a lot of sleep thinking that these oil industry fuckers were going to blast us into oblivion. But now that I know these oil industry fuckers are going to blast us into oblivion, I sleep like a baby. Go figure!

Japan, China to finally enter gas field talks. Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao told Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama that China "would like to enter negotiations as soon as possible," according to Japanese Foreign Ministry officials.

So I guess the question isn't "Hu will start gas field negotiations, but Wen"? (Sorry, couldn't resist).

The Terror Finance Flotilla
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/terror-finance-flotilla

The Turkish organizers of the Gaza Strip-bound flotilla that was boarded this morning by Israeli commandos knew well in advance that their vessels would never reach Israeli waters. That's because the organizers belong to a nonprofit that was banned by the Israeli government in July 2008 for its ties to terrorism finance.

Questions:

If implementing a nuclear device facilitated strategy is a reasonable solution to the Deepwater Horizon problem, then why isn't this being done? Too risky? Unacceptable geology? Too expensive? A nuclear strategy is actually all but certain NOT to work? No one wants to assume responsibility for possibly compounding an already UNACCEPTABLE ecologic disaster? In spite of such questions not being suitably addressed and answered, is it then also true that -- in spite of there being absolutely NO SURE FIX for "the problem" in sight -- permits for even MORE deepwater boring for oil through miles of geologic crust in the Gulf of Mexico Basin continue being issued? Is there some form of Biblical proportion monumental denial going on here?

An intuitive answer to ALL the above:

YES!

How did the Peace and Justice movement become an agent for Iran? I suspect there is some huge funding going on for the P%J's publications, from middle east sources. But its gone way further than I could have ever imagined. Truthout, common dreams, alternet, can they all be agents for Iran?

Or, has the P&J's leadership all along been an agent for Iran? Well, I guess not, the academic liberals fell into the trap because there is no shades of gray in their barometer? They see Israel as a moral high ground for civilization so they get angry when they see atrocities on a population that is infested with Iranian agents. If only the P&J's would put their energy into the injustice of energy as a controlled government utility, and see how that is the root of all the problems in the world. We enabled the middle east, and Africa to profit on this death based system while putting nothing back into the earths process. We keep scapegoating BP when we should be looking at ourselves while we pump the gas. You want regulations on deep sea wells, but we already subsidize oil at $800 billion a year. The world is insane. Israel is a scapegoat. Wag the dog Rand, and eyeballs.

Why do the P&J's protect the Iranian regime and not confront them gaining access to nuclear weapons without condemnation? Because no use in crying over a regimes deeds. So cry on me.

This is why the peace and justice movement disregards middle east human rights violations that far exceed Israels self defense.

You want change yet you keep falling into the deflection traps.

The collective punishment that Israel continues to meet out to the residence of Gaza because of their choice in leadership is criminal.

Just as the attack on the USS Liberty has been misrepresented by Israel and its supporters and stooges in the US Government, this attack too is being misrepresented as some type of justifiable act of self-defense. The corporate media cannot spin Israel out of responsibility for the deaths of innocents.

An apartheid regime, whether it be historical South Africa or present day Israel, will not survive the test of time. It will collapse under the weight of injustice necessary to perpetuate itself.

If the entire holy land were to somehow slip into the Mediterranean, like some new age Atlantis, I would not shed a tear. I would view it as pay back for the decades of Israeli crimes against humanity.

Rest well to know that RanD is no agent for any particular ideo-politico-establishment, whether its self-professing constituents define their establishment(s) as a particular state, a nation, a corporation, a religion, a church, or whatever else.

Wherever we see an injustice or a wrong we speak of it as such. Wherever we see a good thing we speak of it as such. This world that we are currently experiencing evinces itself being systemically interlaced with good & bad, and we consider all human beings to be members-in-common to the whole of it, and live our lives day in & day out in accord with this perspective.

Consequently, we see Israeli Zionism as having been inherently illogical and thus wrong from its outset; having been an error wrought of mere ideo-political desire & expedience, and has thus been a mistake for all GOD-loving people to learn from, not something to repeat, emulate, support or endorse, but something to be recognized for what it is and is not, as having been a bad idea to humbly confess to and expediently undo. GOD would certainly be pleased to see this happen, and all the world would see its undoing as having been a good thing.
