WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE UNEMPLOYMENT CHECKS STOP?

Feb 1, 2010 -- Think about it. I just posted a link on the "Collapse" Facebook Page that was taken from the great work Jenna, Rice Farmer and so many others are doing here on the blog. That link showed in pretty stark deatil how quickly police departments are being cut back all over the country. Shortly thereafter someone sent this in to Facebook:

Tim Scott commented on your link: "My mother lives in the city of Ceres, Stanislaus County, CA and hopefully will be faxing me a letter soon she received from CC regarding the above. She's been there for 9 years and now barely sees any police presence. On top of cutting all these services they've doubled their water bill! Certainly that will help her become a good consumer again..."
Shortly thereafter another message came in from Tim.
"It's a lot. Unemployment is a big burden on local governments right now too. I live in RI and the state is borrowing hundreds of millions JUST to pay for UI benefits. I'd imagine they're simultaneously losing that much from the unemployed cutting their spending."...

-- With defaults looming in many state governments and budget cuts so severe that police departments are being significantly reduced in size, one must ask the question about when happens when unemployment checks stop being issued altogether? It's inevitable. What happens when states announce that there is no more unemployemnt relief of any kind? There will be no parachute at all for newly unemployed? -- How long will that be?

I wish I could tell you. But if we can see it, The Powers That Be saw it a long time ago.

Volatile civil unrest will inevitably collide with rapidly downsizing public safety budgets... Things are getting spicy. A new region of the map is emerging. This is a supremely spoiled nation. And the temper tantrum that's coming is going to be nasty. This will be Dmitry Orlov's Political Collapse... "Let them eat cake."

ON OTHER FRONTS -- There is a great synergy developing between this blog, the Facebook Page for the movie, and my personal Facebook page. I'm also very pleased to see some great stuff coming in though the New White Trash page. There are a great many influential musicians who get this completely and who are watching closely. Learning speeds are increasing as the networking spreads. And I have to tell you that there is one amazing global network coming together.

So, if you haven't, please check out all these pages and see what you can glean. Add what you think will help. There's a whole bunch of new map makers out there and they're making big contributions. We need to learn fast and there's a lot of good information coming in now. As the Facebook pages will show, we are indeed part of a large, worldwide movement. Check the number of friends and fans. If you want to keep track, sign up on all of them. Take what you can use and leave the rest. It's actually a pretty quick way to process a lot of information. What's most important is that this is fresh information from fresh perspectives. Remember what I said about ol Tom Jefferson.

Here are the pages:

Facebook: "Collapse"
Facebook: "Michael C. Ruppert"
http://www.newwhitetrash.com

We must focus and learn quickly from ways that collapse is happening. That's when our options start to become more valuable than our plans.

This is scary because it's a middle finger gesture from Obama to China, and will have consequences we can only hope will be mild. China is not going to be happy if they lend that trillion to the US or not, cause then they don't the fed will print the money, devalue the dollar further, and make the bonds China has bought from the US less valuable. Eigter way China is looking at getting less from America. This is in my view the first clear initiative for ww3 since it's making other countries take part of the losses the dollar brings, but also making it more lucrative to abandon it. And the day the dollar falls is the day the war starts.

The original URL link from my comment yesterday went dead. Today's should be up to date, and oddly is only on Yahoo's Canadian server. Who knew Afghanistan was sitting on a trillion dollars worth of geological resources? There's no way that had anything to do with the invasion, right?

Another point I want to make is not little but significant. I mentioned ww3 and people might laugh but I want to bring todays context into a more historic context all together.

The first world war was not because of a stupid shot that killed a prince. It was linked to a Serbian man alledegly and that was enough for Austria to go to war against Serbia in witch endevour it thought it self very likely but failed. Now russia had good relations with the serbs and made that clear, witch made the austria friendly germans clearer in their views. Carl Marx with all his crazys was a german and his ideas was all over. But the first world war did not happen because of a shot but allies that where already there when the shot made it all happen. I think the first world war is not accounted for enough because of the visiual is a man in a hurry, but therefore wrong. The germans did not start that one, they where just in the way.

Understanding the second world war is useless withouth understanding the 1917 russian revolution AND the Spanish Civil war. If Franco had not won, a second world war would have been difficult, but not impossible. The cold war would have started way before.
The way to understand the second world war is to understand the Spanish civil war and in newer political terms that is to see the Spanish civil war as a proxy war, and it was. I think it's the biggest proxy war ever fought. You had british workers fighting for rights, Italiens fighting for Mr.M, Russians for Communism, Germans for Nazies, Austrians for their long lost prince, Moroccoans for their freedom. Anarchist for their freedom.

It was a fucking mess. But the idea with armies won and when Franco geniously took power. (Genius for him not the Spanish people), Then he more than supported Hitler, he approved. And that was enough to get Hitler grown in the Shadow we all know as Stalin. The result of what? The russian revolution.

I also read that total states "borrowing" for UI funds totalled around $28 billion last year. How does this work? Bond sales to the treasury? Isn't this sort of considered a "back door bailout" for states if they can borrow money to pay for services?

Jenna, I'm with Sebastian on this one... did you really cause that!?

Jenna doesn't cause it, she just doesn't want to waste more time than it takes us to use the page down key to skip over repeat comments.

I have to say that after posting I have to search with my eyes for the text at the top of the screen that says my comment has been posted, and did not just dissapear into the internets...

I see this as a fault with the Blogger posting interface, in that it does not provide that "comment has been posted, awaiting moderator approval" message in a place in the page where the poster is likely to see it without scrolling back up and looking at the very top of the page...

Combined with inexperienced users, it's a recipie for all of us to be a little annoyed, including the poster of the comment.

I say we lay the blame with Blogger's poor interface design, and inform new posters ourselves as needed, so Jenna can do more productive things.

Is it really that hard to see a repeat and hit page down?
