NEPDG REPORT BECOMING MAJOR ISSUE FOR BP AND DEEPWATER HORIZON

June 2, 2010, 1300 PDT -- Press and politicians are suddenly remembering NEPDG since it's just been disclosed that BP was one of the companies that got secret access to Dick Cheney's energy task frorce. And Halliburton was also directly involved in the cluster**** that led to the blowout and explosion. People who have followed me for all these years know that I have been virtually screaming since 2003 that all of the deepest, darkest secrets are in the NEPDG records. I don't think it will happen, but the one thing that could help us all most right now is to know what's in those records. They laid out Peak Oil, They looked at all their options. They saw what was coming and they began implementing a plan. What I think may happen is that some heavy-heavy backroom pressures will be brought to bear and that maybe DoJ will get a chance to (as the press will report) look at those portions of the records having to do only with BP... We all know the drill.

But if I had just one wish it would be that the whole world could see and understand everything NEPDG did. They figured out exactly how much oil and gas was left, where it was, and how they planned to deal with (steal) it. This was PNAC. This was the raison d'etre for Bush-Cheney. This was why they stole the 2000 election and for everything that followed. And if we knew what was in those records, we could build so many more lifeboats, the right ways, and in the right places.

I think it came across pretty clear in "Collapse" how passionate I am about this. That information would be the most valuable gift we could leave to future genrations. -- I don't dare let myself have hope.

Dear Mike,

I took a drive tonight and gave it some deep thought about the ramifications of the Gulf Oil Spill. When Rand Paul won the KY primary there was a lot more flack from the GOP guards than from the grass roots part of the party. The "guards" and the "grass roots" are at odds with each other in the GOP right now.
This sounds like a grand conspiracy but just what if the blow out at Deep Horizon was intentional to put down the leader of the Tea Party Movement and according to Fox News the "real" President of the US, Sarah Palin? "Drill baby Drill" is going to be in the front of everyone's minds as black tar washes ashore onto white beaches where many good memories were made by lots of people. This effectively ends Sarah Palin '12 run and takes her off the political map almost permentantly. The Tea Party needs a new leader... just a few thoughts.

Looks like Palin may be thinking the same thing and is a step ahead with the following (From CBSNews.com):

"Palin wrote the following on Twitter: "Extreme Greenies:see now why we push'drill, baby, drill'of known reserves&promising finds in safe onshore places like ANWR? Now do you get it?". What Palin appears to be arguing is that the oil spill shows that it makes sense to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which, she suggests, is safer than offshore drilling.

Too much consequence for what is basically euthanising an already braindead horse. I think you've got the game the wrong way around. Political sacrifices are made for resources, resources aren't sacrificed for politics (well, most of the time anyway), not when they're getting this scarce.

I asked this several months ago, but defense analyst and author Michael Klare's book "Blood and Oil" seems to be written as if he has seen the contents of the NEPDG report first hand. Can MCR confirm if it is possible that Klare has seen the contents of the report? If so, how could he have gotten access to it? Maybe he's only writing about the 7 pages that were released, and piecing together the others aspects, but I don't remember him once mentioning that it was sealed from public consumption. Mike? Jenna?

Dare to let yourself have hope Mike.Keep hope alive!I try to have faith in the people's collective will. Thanks to you the number of people whose will to demand that information be brought to light shall grow.Likely is growing, and shall eventually overcome the will of those who want to keep it in the dark with them.

I posted to my Facebook wall an important story you once wrote about the NEPDG report, titled "IN YOUR FACE".To my pleasant surprise, one of my friends actually read, and "liked" it.My hope is that from there,he will pass it on,and knowledge of it's importance will snowball.hotcha

Goldman Sachs shorted TransOcean prior to the April 20 explosion. Guess whose stock went up for public listing on six bourses in Switzerland on April 20? Why that of TransOcean, of course. How's that for a funny prank to have TransOcean blow on April 20? That
Lloyd Blankfein. Such a joker!

seba, andy borowitz is a satirical writer:

"The news about Goldman's bet against the Gulf comes on the heels of embarrassing revelations that the firm had taken a short position on Lindsay Lohan's acting career."

however, life also copies satire. this blog has posted some links on goldman's interest in bp

Jenna, re Goldman and BP, from what I have seen (and not necessarily from in here as I don't get in here on a daily basis) yes, Goldman was holding a BP interest and sold some of it off prior to April 20...$250 million, if I'm not mistaken. Big deal. That's peanuts. It's standard insider stuff. The shorting of TransOcean is a whole other matter, especially as its shares went up for public listing on the very day of "explosion."

btw, the following link will click to CBS' excellent 60 Minutes piece on what, from our perspective, everyone needs to know about BP's Deepwater Horizon Macondo Oil Reservoir Drilling Venture Blowout:

PS - RanD's above post on 60 Mins' report re the Deepwater Blowout was in no way intended to eclipse the need of opening up NEPDG's records and minutes to public scrutiny. It was also good to find MCR's latest FTW blogspot comments re the NEPDG blackbox issue on bing. We would do well to have everything possible about the politics of petroleum and the profit motive and where we are today out in the open.

To me a more plausible conspiracy theory is that the oil rig was blown up to spearhead the country into a powerdown transition and to begin the conversation of peak oil and it's implications....but of course, would anyone really want to destroy the GOM just to get this powerdown underway?

But if Cheney engineered the 9/11 why not engineer this one? Total conjecture but fun to think about...

You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!

Can you imagine what would happen if we did get to read the records of the NEPDGF meeting?

Disbelief, followed by anger, followed by bargaining followed by acceptance, followed by extreme anger.

What is the word on the street about when the well will run dry? I am not optimistic about them being able to cap it. Although I do have my shag bag of golf balls ready when they come asking.
