A Marshall Plan for Haiti
Gee, didn't I use that exact term a few days ago? Didn't I say it would take a Marshall Plan? Disaster Capitalism. It is more profitable to kill people and take lives than it is to save them. Forget the rhetoric folks. Lay preconceptions aside and just see what's happening here. Perhaps the newcomers, after reading the Marshall Plan story should go back and read one of my best essays ever... It's called Globalcorp.
Here's the Haiti story: http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/01/20/haiti.rebuilding/index.html?hpt=T2
Here's Globalcorp: http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/031005_globalcorp.shtml
And here's a quote from Globalcorp:
"As the human race blows itself into extinction, or destroys the climate, or starves itself to death, the last corporate merger and acquisition will take place. And at the same moment as mankind dies, the CFO of "GlobalCorp" will be shouting, 'Hooray! We did it!'"

"On Monday, Jean Demay, DISA's technical manager for the agency's Transnational Information Sharing Cooperation project, happened to be at the headquarters of the U.S. Southern Command in Miami preparing for a test of the system in a scenario that involved providing relief to Haiti in the wake of a hurricane. After the earthquake hit on Tuesday, Demay said SOUTHCOM decided to go live with the system."

RanD - glad you are still here after the recent storm. This place would be poorer without you, even if I must admit much of what you say flies over my head. But that is surely my failing, is it not?
I was hoping that once MCR got to rest and chill out a bit after completing his book, his movie, and flying around the country to promote his movie, that he'd want to begin posting in here frequently again. And I'm happy to see that he's back in action in here!

What? I do not recall the difference in attitude you question, or is it just the general tone of my posts? I will respond.
Potassium Iodide explained from the horses(CDC) mouth,
It's taken to save your LIFE, NOT TAKE IT.
You can find it at a Surplus store, or a Good Health food

There have been several posts from those who "Got the picture" & got right to work preparing, on their own, without a Teacher or Preacher.
Wherever you are is unique for any number of reasons, primary of
which is the people around you; do you agree/get along, will they assist you or fight you tooth and nail? Should/could you chuck it all, as some have, or is there a reason you feel/are forced to stay put.
Survival can be/should be a Community effort, you can not say show me/teach me; it has to be Help me/I'll Help you--We will both muddle through.
That is what Agape, evolved into Amae is about, sharing not HORDING!

agape wins, your adage: “We none of us deserve the comfort we enjoy; Peace,Namaste,Amae” indeed speaks a profound and humbling truth, one which both begs & demands that we who are advantaged use our gift to make it better for all.
