CAN ANYONE DO THIS FOR ME?

In January of 2001, I wrote an essay entitled EMPIRE. In it, after analyzing Bush's first cabinet, I concluded that it was a war cabinet. I also predicted what the Bush administrative would be like and I think I nailed it pretty close. Seven and a half years later, I would love to see that again.

Unfortunately, it may be lost to us. So much was destroyed in Oregon. EMPIRE may exist now only in the original hardcopy newsletter and I have no idea who might have saved them. But -- as I recall -- it was some of my best predictive work ever. Today, on an election day that so far looks stable and secure, I thought it would be great to se what I thought might happen and how it would turn out. That was written eight months before 9-11.

Is there a slim chance that anyone still has the hard copies?

I would be eternally grateful if someone did.

I noticed this article a little over a week ago in a local paper. Since there were two chapters devoted to Vreeland in Crossing the Rubicon, I thought it might be of interest to some readers. I was rather surprised to learn that he was practically living in my backyard.

  3. Great find nihil. I wonder how legitimate the charges and the case were. Maybe a case of character assasination...

  4. THE BUSH-CHENEY DRUG EMPIRE

    by
    Michael C. Ruppert

FTW October 24, 2000 - The success of Bush Vice Presidential running mate Richard Cheney at leading Halliburton, Inc. to a five year $3.8 billion "pig-out" on federal contracts and taxpayer-insured loans is only a partial indicator of what may happen if the Bush ticket wins in two weeks. A closer look at available research, including an August 2, 2000 report by the Center for Public Integrity (CPI) at www.public-i.org, suggests that drug money has played a role in the successes achieved by Halliburton under Cheney's tenure as CEO from 1995 to 2000. This is especially true for Halliburton's most famous subsidiary, heavy construction and oil giant, Brown and Root. A deeper look into history reveals that Brown and Root's past as well as the past of Dick Cheney himself, connect to the international drug trade on more than one occasion and in more than one way. ....

  5. And if Mike really wants some nostalgia he can view the old FTW webpages through their many iterations here. Also, perhaps retrieve any other lost files that may come to mind:

On another note, you know I would swear I heard something to this effect pretty recenty: "Obama to inherit feeble economy awash in red ink"

  7. Yesterday in my state, people voted to give livestock more rights and people less.

The horrible inequity consistently shown by mankind (largely in the name of religion) somehow never ceases to amaze me. Today I am ashamed to be a Californian.

  11. I'm not saying it is, but archive.org has potential to be Orwell's Ministry of Information, able to revise fine details of history at will.

  13. Peter J. Nickitas has left a new comment on your post "CAN ANYONE DO THIS FOR ME? In January of 2001, I ...":

No word about Peak Oil here, and that's OK. We have always had to be the change we envisioned, just as the men and women, living and dead, had to be the change that led to President-Elect Barack Obama. I see this article as a good piece of encouragement to teach our children and help them to create a decent post-Peak world, with or without the help of titled leaders.
