  8. ANALYSIS-Record coal prices hammer power generators
    http://uk.reuters.com/article/oilRpt/idUKL2785392120070928

This year we have seen several reports on the world coal situation, all of them showing that we can't count on having as much coal as we thought. Still, this article caught me by surprise. Even the most pessimistic report did not expect "peak coal" for another decade or so, if memory serves, so if prices are going up this much years before the peak...

  9. The "war on terror" is as phony as a $3 bill, and more people are starting to catch on.

But the one thing that ruins this article the most is that, after giving a conciliatory nod to the conspiracy theorists, it gives the neocons the benefit of the doubt on 9/11, calling the event "fortuitous." Does that make any sense? Think about it for a minute. The neocons spend years developing a program and an elaborate plan to implement it. All they need is their "new Pearl Harbor" event to set it in motion. So with plans laid, they are now just going to sit around for perhaps years and wait for the perfect event that might or might not happen! It's stupid even to entertain such unrealistic thinking, but in effect that is what the "19 Arabs with boxcutters" camp asks us to believe.
