Manuel Rosales, Governor of the Venezuelan province of Zulia, who has been accused of supporting the coup attempt against Chavez in 2002 as well as of secretly fostering plans for the secession of the oil-rich province, is now being linked to the recent assassination attempt on Chavez' life.
Rosales also recently went to Miami on what he called "a private tour." However Caracas newspapers allege that the purpose of the trip was to obtain instructions and backing for his campaign "based on a proposal to directly distribute a portion of the oil revenue." JO

ReplyDeleteI am 99% this is old information to you all by now. But Kevin Tillman wrote a wonderful piece that is getting a lot of airplay in main stream news now.
My guess it is Stan Geoff and Mike Ruppert and their wonderful articles and research had something to do with this.
that's an educated and shrewd guess, howlin_dog. seconded

ReplyDeleteOh great and wise ones I need some help now. The obvious says: "A great change is about to take place". The party in power is going through complete meltdown.
My nose says "Am I walking in a fish market?" It sure does smell like one.
It is hard for me to believe that finally the scales fell from the eyes of the American public and all of the recent revelations are completely random and independent. I can't even believe that it is the invisible hand of Karma and what goes around comes around.
For all this to happen this fast, this completely, and not only well reported in the media, but even encouraged in the media there must be an invisible hand...but it must be the evil puppet master's hand.
So while I can sense something is up, I am not sure exactly what it is yet. I am getting tired of standing with my backside against the wall because I am afraid of exposing it.
I do have ideas, but I would much rather be spoon fed than completely navigate it on my own. Anyhow, if you can explain all this to a schizoid paranoid it would be very helpful.

Do you still think the "hydrogen economy" is anything but a scam? This article is a year and a half old, but well worth the read.

ReplyDeletethanks for your message. we're well aware of that situation and will let you know asap. SORRY!!
hans,
ReplyDeletethanks for the article. while it may appear plausible on its face, the writer is unaware of many aspects of the story which render his interpretation impossible.

ReplyDelete"The shining promise of ethanol doesn't add up for farmers"
http://www.grist.org/comments/food/2006/10/25/ethanol/index.html?source=daily
The ethanol outlook isn't as rosy as it seems at first glance. What's more, this article doesn't treat a more serious problem: the effect of rising oil prices. A common fallacy in reasoning about biofuels is that the higher the price of oil, the more sense biofuels make, but in reality without cheap fuel to run farm machinery and trucks (even if we assume that ethanol plants burn coal), biofuels can never be made on a large scale.

ReplyDeleterice farmer,
ReplyDeletefrom the beginning, dr cate jenkins has been among the foremost experts providing substantive scientific evidence of epa malfeasance including their use of 20 year old instruments to test for asbestos. for every fiber of asbestos epa found, independent contractors found nine. the risk of cancer from the asbestos alone could be one person in ten.

ReplyDeleteHow good is airport security? Not very, and this airport security hacker is demonstrating that.
http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2006/10/portrait_of_a_y.html
Of course I'm not the only person who thinks that these rules have little to do with security, but a lot to do with fat contracts for security companies, making a show of "fighting terrorists," and just making air travel such a hassle that some people will cut down or give it up entirely.

ReplyDeleteHowlin Dog -- That link didn't work for me, but a little searching on Google News turned up other articles on the same subject. For example,
"America The Bankrupt"
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/28/business/main2135398.shtml
Despite the title, this article is rather low-key and non-alarmist.
Health care is costing so much because the system is set up to ensure fat profits for drug companies, and because Americans abuse their bodies by eating crap that clogs their arteries and attacks their organs. And because they overeat! Every time I visit the US I suffer culture shock when I see the huge portions in restaurants and all those fat Americans wolfing it down.

Despite all the incredibly bad energy news (which is also bad news for just about everything else), corporations and international organizations still manage to be surprisingly upbeat about how in the future millions more people are going to be driving cars, how billions more people are going to be living on the earth, and generally how many more people are going to be living higher on the hog. Talk about blind optimism!
