FRAUDULENT EMAIL SENT FROM FTW

Today, September 20, 2006, FTW subscribers received a fraudulent email disguised as and FTW email alert. Long story short, [the FTW website has been tampered with]*—again. The email is 200% bogus. How do I know? Because I speak with Mike Ruppert every day, and I can verify that he is not “able to live fairly well here” as this ruse states in the first sentence. Not only do I know that Mike did not write this email because its style and tone are not his, but I am profoundly familiar with the nature of his life in Caracas which is spare, austere, and extremely limited on a number of levels, including financial.

Mike recently had his laptop repaired, not because the CIA or FBI downloaded anything into it but because it had mechanical problems, and he did not have his recovery disk with him. HE DOES NOT NEED A NEW LAPTOP; the one he just got back from the computer repair shop works just fine!

FTW has survived this kind of harassment many times, and we will do so once more. We regret this kind of nonsense going into the inboxes of our subscribers, and we thank you for your loyal support.

  1. Just like the last poster, I too was scratching my head over that message. Mike Ruppert asking us to send money so he can live the good life? I don't know Mike personally, but it seemed totally out of character. Well, thanks to the CIA for that unconvincing lie.

  2. Sounds like something Victor Thorn(in Mike's side)aka:Whatever would say.I don't think I got that E-mail.

One thing I have noticed just recently though is that when I click on FTW's latest picks,or new FTW members only origonal publications,my username and password are not requested.I didn't think too much of it at first, because I had clicked the option for my info to be remembered at this computer, but I was at a friends house the other day,and the same thing happend.Just a click, and I was there.I'm not sure who to notify about this really, and I haven't been having the greatest of luck with E-mails just lately,so I hope you can pass this on to whoever is capable of correcting the fact that FTW is 100 percent free instead of just 95 percent.

  3. Carolyn, I understand the frustration. As a business owner, I am always tense when attacked by whatever source. But now that I look at this situation from the outside in, I want to just tell you to laugh. I will try to take my own advice sometime as well. But look at this. It is funny, isn't it? Mike asks for money to live the good life. Ha ha ha. That is just a ruse worth remembering. Like, can anyone who built a business just start destroying confidence like that? And can Mike start considering the "good life" already now just minutes after nearly being run over by a truck (metaphor).

    This is funny.

Yeah, easy for me to say, I know.

But anyway, just wanted to cheer you up.

  4. Glad to see the other shoe drop - Having gotten a lot of 'phishing' emails lately, I was wary to begin with, but the mention of "It is no secret that I go there often, and order my pitcher of cerveza"... well, that sounded an alarm, at least

  5. I'm relieved to see this - I had suspected it was fake when I read the part "It is no secret that I go there often, and order my pitcher of cerveza...", and my suspicions were heightened when there were those links embedded - having gotten lots of phishing emails lately, I was wary.

  8. "Dark Clouds on Japan's Energy Horizon," reads the headline on a major story in today's financial section, about the flap over Sakhalin-2. Lots of stories on the web for those interested.

  10. I too detect a note of desperation in the broadside of debunking articles, and also in the cheap name-calling (such as "conspiracy nuts") that supposedly respectable journalists now regularly engage in. When people start resorting to tactics like that, it is a sign that even they realize their own argument is weak. All the more reason for us to keep up the pressure.

  11. FWIW, the IP address geop published tracks back to n1.fromthewilderness.com - that is just how the emailer spoofed his 'from address' - I've heard that this is not hard to do.

  12. PA has left a new comment on your post "FRAUDULENT EMAIL SENT FROM FTW":

    1,100 LAPTOPS GO MISSING

This is about the fifth episode of this kind in recent months.

I thought I would post this in this thread because it is relative to data being misplaced and hacking. This is a prelude to the intrusive NEW CENSUS forms, with the excuse that they now will have to reset the data that they supposedly lost.
